BDSM on TV
ABC’s show Castle had a BDSM laden episode the other night that can be seen in it’s entirety on Hulu.com for the next five weeks. After that, I think Hulu’s agreement with ABC mandates that the episode be taken down. You can also read about this episode and its evolvement at the link below, but beware: SPOILER ALERT IN THE LINK.
The Mistress Always Spanks Twice
After a long month of waiting, Castle finally returned to us last night. The episode had leather cuffs, playground equipment, caramel sauce, inappropriate reveals, and a dead PhD candidate. And that was just at the crime scene! And thus our mystery begins… Was it the boyfriend, the dominatrix, or some other nefarious lead? …

Are we nuts (redux)?
Here’s the dominatrix-pistachio ad encounter referred to in our last post. The second clip is a “behind the scene’s interview” with the dominatrix who is reported to be a real-life domme previously working in Los Angeles.
Update (October 6, 2009): The dominatrix featured in these ads is the lovely Isabella Sinclair. Follow the link for more info on Ms Sinclair.

Here’s a screen grab from a USA Today article entitled Pistachio industry bets on ’sex sells’ mentality with ads. We’re becoming more mainstream folks, or at least “coming out of the shell.”

BDSM and the Arts
Spanking is a unique component of BDSM, so I thought that this might interest some readers especially those close to or planning to visit New York.
Literature and S&M Mix in World Premiere, ‘The Books’, at FringeNYC
According to production notes, “An offbeat love story of a professional dominatrix, Mistress Chimera, and her agoraphobic client, Mark, The Books chronicles the unique development of their relationship. After Mark loans Helen a copy of James Joyce’s ‘Dubliners,’ their personal relationship deepens, complicating their sadomasochistic rituals. Before the couple can truly fall in love, they both must accept that some people may never fit into society. Hayden’s play humanizes sadomasochism. Through both dark and light comedy, the play explores a side of sexuality that is still considered taboo. ÖIt examines the unseen lives of the perceived misfits of today’s culture, struggling to find their place.” …
The Books will play Aug. 14 at 10 PM, Aug. 18 at 5 PM, Aug. 19 at 5:15 PM, Aug. 24 at 12:45 PM and Aug. 27 at 7:45 PM. Tickets are $15.
