Wimbledon
The ball boys and girls at Wimbledon are an interesting and essential component of a successful championship. With stealth-like movements, they dart hither and yon dispatching their duties. Balls must be at the correct position when players ask for them, towels must be at the ready when players ask for them, umbrellas must be over a player’s head during changeovers, and so on. Can you imagine the wrath that would fall on some hapless ball person if s/he erred and a player became angered and lost a key point thereby ending their run to a championship? The hapless ball person would return to the staging area after their shift, only to be called to the dispatcher’s office. There, the aggrieved player would be given the option of administering or viewing just punishment. A girl’s skirt flipped up, knickers down, and bare bottom seriously caned. Shorts down for the boys.
