Thursday Thoughts – Aftercare

Thursday Thoughts is a weekly column in which Ms. Victoria Kay, a Phoenix-based Disciplinarian and Spankologist, provides her insights to reader questions or those posed by All Things Spanking. Thursday Thoughts columns are archived on a page of its own in addition to being available through the normal search feature. Please email if you wish to suggest a question for Ms. Victoria.

Question: Aftercare is an oft discussed topic among spankers. Do you utilize aftercare in all or any instances? If so, how do you go about it, and what creams or ointments might you use to alleviate the sting/pain? Or, is it simply, you earned a spanking, let it hurt!

Ms. Victoria says: Haha, I am not so cruel as to forgo aftercare.

ATS: Phew … that is good to hear.

Ms. Victoria says: There is always aftercare. I feel it’s of essence to a spanking. I do a good amount of rubbing, and also sometimes a kneading type of massage to the bottom which helps prevent knots. Cream is applied, yes. Arnica cream or gel is a homeopathic ointment that alleviates pain. However, I just use a good thick organic lotion at the end of the session.

There’s more to aftercare then lotions and creams. It’s important to really hold a calm, soothing, caring energy, and to allow dialog. Also, most of my spankees get into subspace, and need a few minutes or more to collect themselves to be ready to transition into the rest of day. That time is always allowed. Hydration is important. Coming to the session hydrated is good, but not everyone does so I have water available.
