The First Day Of School
A few days ago, when I was falling asleep on the train, my thoughts started following a fantasy about a rural schoolhouse in ages past. A new schoolmaster had just been hired, and he terrified all the children. He was burly and bearded like pirate (not the Johnny Depp kind). Moreover, he was determined to instill traditional discipline in his pupils.
